Workspaces
A workspace is your practice's home in SOPHIE. All SOPs, team members, departments, settings, and analytics are scoped to a workspace.
Workspace structure
Each workspace contains:
- Team members with assigned roles and permissions
- Departments for organizational grouping
- Spaces for data isolation (e.g., multiple locations)
- SOPs with workflow states, versions, and acknowledgements
- Practice OS modules (Vision, Scorecard, Plays)
- Subscription and billing configuration
Creating a workspace
Workspaces are created during the onboarding flow when you first sign up. The onboarding wizard guides you through:
- Naming your workspace
- Configuring your practice profile
- Inviting team members
- Setting up initial roles and departments
Workspace settings
Workspace administrators can configure:
- General -- Workspace name, display name, logo, timezone
- Office Hours -- Per-day schedule with opening, closing, and shift transition times (Beginning, During, End of day)
- AI Settings -- Enable or disable AI features workspace-wide
- Security -- IP restriction and access control lists
Access these from Settings > General in the sidebar.
Multi-workspace support
Users can belong to multiple workspaces. When navigating to SOPHIE without a specific workspace in the URL, you'll see a workspace selector to choose which practice to work in.
Roles and access
Workspaces use a role-based access control (RBAC) system with three permission tiers:

|---|---|
| Free | Basic SOP access and acknowledgements |
| Professional | Full SOP management, workflows, and team features |
| Enterprise | AI features, analytics, Practice OS, and advanced admin |
