Gap Analysis
Gap Analysis identifies which SOPs your practice is missing by comparing your current procedures against industry best practices for your practice type.
Setting up Gap Analysis
Gap Analysis requires a Practice Profile to generate relevant recommendations. If you haven't set one up yet, SOPHIE will prompt you to provide:
- Number of practice locations
- Number of operatory rooms
- Team size
- Dental specialties offered
- Practice type (general, specialty, group, etc.)
Configure your practice profile from the Gap Analysis page or from Settings > Practice Profile.
Using Gap Analysis
Navigate to Gap Analysis in the sidebar. The page has four sections:
Overview
A summary dashboard showing:
- Total gaps identified
- Gaps resolved (SOPs created)
- Coverage percentage
- Priority breakdown
Gaps
The main list of identified missing SOPs, organized by category and priority. For each gap:
- Title -- The recommended SOP topic
- Priority -- How critical the gap is
- Category -- Operational area (Clinical, Administrative, Compliance, etc.)
- Resolution status -- Whether you've created a SOP to address this gap
You can click on any gap to create a SOP directly, and SOPHIE AI can generate the initial content.
Exclusions
Not every recommendation applies to every practice. The exclusions list lets you mark gaps as Not Applicable with a reason. Excluded gaps are removed from your coverage metrics.
Practice Profile
Review and update your practice information. Changes to your profile may surface new gaps or remove irrelevant ones.
Refreshing analysis
Click Refresh Analysis to re-run the gap analysis with your latest SOPs and practice profile. This is useful after creating new SOPs or updating your practice information.
