SOPHIE AI can generate complete SOP drafts from a brief description, saving hours of manual writing.

How to generate a SOP

  1. Navigate to SOPs and click New SOP.
  2. Click the SOPHIE AI button in the editor toolbar.
  3. Describe the procedure you want to document (e.g., "New patient intake process for front desk staff").
  4. SOPHIE AI generates a complete SOP with:
    • Step-by-step instructions
    • Relevant safety notes and compliance reminders
    • Suggested frequency and flow classification
  5. Review and edit the generated content as needed.
  6. Save as draft or submit for approval.

Inline AI editing

Already have a SOP but want to improve a section? Use inline AI editing:

  1. Select the text you want to refine.
  2. Click the AI edit button.
  3. Describe how you'd like the section changed (e.g., "Make this more concise" or "Add safety precautions").
  4. Review the AI's suggestion and accept or modify.

Tips for better AI output

  • Be specific -- "Patient check-in for new patients with insurance verification" produces better results than "check-in process."
  • Include context -- Mention your practice type, specialty, and any specific requirements.
  • Iterate -- Use inline editing to refine sections rather than regenerating the entire SOP.
  • Review carefully -- AI-generated content is a starting point. Always have a knowledgeable team member review before publishing.

SOPs created with AI assistance are tracked so your team knows the content was AI-generated and should be reviewed before being treated as authoritative.
