Bulk Edit

When you need to update the same property across many SOPs -- reassigning an owner, moving SOPs to a new space, or changing a schedule -- doing it one SOP at a time is slow and error-prone. Bulk Edit lets you select multiple SOPs and apply property changes to all of them at once.

Opening Bulk Edit

  1. Navigate to SOPs in the sidebar to open the All SOPs view.
  2. Click the Bulk button in the toolbar.

The view switches to a flat table layout with a checkbox next to each SOP. A property editor panel appears at the top of the page where you will configure your changes.

Choosing What to Change

In the property editor panel, click the Add a property to change dropdown. This shows all the properties you can update in bulk:

PropertyWhat it does
FlowSet the flow category (Patient, Admin, or Office) for the selected SOPs.
ScheduleChange frequency and pick the specific day or month. Sub-selectors appear for day of week, day of month, or month depending on the frequency you choose.
TimeSet when during a shift the SOP applies (Beginning, During, or End).
AssignAdd or change the department assignments.
AssigneesSet the roles that perform the selected SOPs.
OwnerSet the role responsible for maintaining the selected SOPs.
SpacesChoose which locations the selected SOPs apply to.

You can add multiple properties at once. Each one you add shows its own editor -- the same controls you see when editing a single SOP's details, so there is nothing new to learn.

Selecting SOPs

Check the box next to each SOP you want to update. You can use the search bar and filters to narrow the list, and your selections persist across searches. This means you can:

  1. Search for "clean" and select 3 SOPs.
  2. Clear the search and type "review" to find a different set.
  3. Select 2 more SOPs from those results.

All 5 SOPs stay selected. You never lose your picks when you change the search or filters. The selection count in the property editor panel updates as you go so you always know how many SOPs will be affected.

Applying Changes

Once you have set your properties and selected your SOPs:

  1. Review the property editor panel to confirm the changes you want to make.
  2. Click Apply Changes.
  3. SOPHIE processes each SOP and shows a summary report when finished.

The summary report lists every SOP by name and tells you whether the update succeeded or failed. If any SOPs fail (for example, due to a permission issue or a conflict), the report explains what went wrong so you can address it.

Tips

  • Start small -- If you are not sure about a change, try it on a few SOPs first before selecting a large batch.
  • Use search to build your selection -- You do not have to scroll through the entire list. Search by keyword, filter by department or flow, and check the ones you need. Your selections stick.
  • Combine properties -- You can change the owner, schedule, and spaces all in one pass. There is no need to run Bulk Edit multiple times for different properties.
  • Check the summary -- Always review the results report. If a SOP failed to update, you can open it individually to see what needs attention.
