Practice Profile

The practice profile tells SOPHIE what kind of practice you run: its type and size, the software you use, and the services and equipment you have. She uses it to tailor her recommendations and to write Standards with steps for your actual systems (for example, "In Dentrix, open the ledger…" rather than generic instructions).

You fill in part of it during the setup wizard (see First steps). This page is where you complete it and keep it current.

Open the practice profile​

  1. Click your picture or initials in the top-right corner and choose Profile.
  2. Choose Practice Profile.

Only the practice owner and people with permission to Edit workspace settings see this tab.

Fill in your profile​

The page is divided into cards. Fill in what applies and click Save Profile at the bottom of the page when you're done.

Basic Information​

Practice Type (for example, general or orthodontics), City, State / Region and Currency.

Practice Size​

The number of Providers, Total Staff and Locations.

Software Used​

The software systems your practice uses. These decide which system-specific steps SOPHIE writes into Standards.

  • Practice Management (PMS): choose from common options such as Dentrix, Eaglesoft, Open Dental, Curve or Oryx, or type another.
  • Phone System: such as Weave, Mango Voice, RingCentral, Vonage or 8x8.
  • X-Ray / Imaging: such as Dexis, Carestream, Schick or Apteryx.
  • Payroll System: such as Gusto, ADP, Paychex, OnPay or QuickBooks.
  • Other Technology: anything else your team uses day to day.

Services Offered, Equipment and Medications Handled​

Tick the services your practice provides, the equipment you have and the types of medication you handle. Each card has the common options, plus a box to add your own.

Good to know​

  • Keep it current. If you switch software, update the profile so the Standards SOPHIE writes from then on use the new system's steps.
  • This doesn't connect your software. Listing your practice management system here only tells SOPHIE what you use. To have SOPHIE collect numbers from it for the Scoreboard, connect it under Integrations. See Practice management.
