Settings Overview
Settings is where you shape SOPHIE around your practice: its name and owner, how each location runs, who can do what, and your own preferences. Everyone can open Settings, because everyone has their own account settings. The practice-wide pages only appear for people allowed to change the practice.
There are two ways into settings:
- Settings, at the bottom of the sidebar, for the practice, its locations and your account.
- Profile, in the menu under your picture or initials (top right), for your personal preferences and notifications. Practice managers see more tabs there too.
Settings (from the sidebar)
Click Settings at the bottom of the sidebar. The menu on the left is grouped into three parts. Back to Workspace at the top returns you to where you were.
Workspace
Shown to the practice owner and people with permission to edit workspace settings.
| Page | What it's for | Read more |
|---|---|---|
| Your practice's name | The workspace's name, avatar and owner, practice-wide defaults, and comment response times. | Workspace settings |
| Space defaults | Your list of locations, and the defaults every location starts from. Add a space here. | Space settings and defaults |
| People & access | Everyone in the practice, their roles, locations and access level. Invite people here. | People |
| Integrations | Practice-wide connections such as Slack and your practice management system. | Integrations |
| Roles & departments | The roles and departments every location uses. | Roles and permissions, Departments |
| SOP tags | The approved list of tags people choose from when tagging a Standard. | Tags and bulk edit |
| Security & sharing | Allowed email domains, and how the practice coaches Power Meet headlines. | Security settings |
Space settings
One entry for each location. Click a space to open its pages (Overview, Hours & calendar, People, Notifications, Integrations). The number beside a space is how many settings it has customized. The + beside the Space settings label adds a space. See Space settings and defaults.
People who can edit one space's settings, but not the workspace's, see just that space's Integrations page here, so they can manage its Slack and practice management connection.
My account
Everyone sees this part. Profile holds your name, and Connections is where you connect your own Google, Microsoft 365 or Fathom account. See Your profile and preferences and Connections.
If you can't change the practice, Settings opens straight onto My account.
Profile (from your profile menu)
Click your picture or initials in the top-right corner and choose Profile. This opens a settings page with a list of tabs down the left. Which tabs you see depends on what you're allowed to do:
| Tab | Who sees it | Read more |

| Practice Profile | Owner and people who can edit workspace settings | Practice profile |

Good to know
- Some settings are for the whole practice, some for one location, some just for you. A Settings page says which. Location settings say "Changes here only affect" followed by the space name. My account pages say "My account · only you".
- A few settings need an extra permission. For example, changing FIX List deadlines needs Change Fix List deadlines, and coaching meeting headlines needs Coach meeting headlines. A setting you can see but not change says "Changing this needs a permission you don't have". Ask your practice owner.
- The owner can always change everything. The practice owner has every permission, whatever their roles.
