Public Link Sharing

A public link lets someone outside your practice open a read-only copy of a Standard without a SOPHIE account, such as a new hire before their first day. The Sharing & access tab lists every Standard your practice has shared this way, so you can see what's out there and cut off access when you need to.

Links are created from the Standard itself. See Sharing a Standard for how.

Open the list

  1. Click your picture or initials in the top-right corner and choose Profile.
  2. Choose Sharing & access.

The page is headed Public SOP links. Only the practice owner and people with full admin access see this tab.

Read the list

Each row shows the Standard, who shared it, whether the link is active or revoked, and the public address. Revoked links stay listed for the record.

  • Use All, Active and Revoked to filter the list.
  • Search by Standard, by the person who shared it, or by the link itself.
  • Click the copy button to copy a link.
  • Click Open SOP in app to open the Standard in SOPHIE.
  • Click Link history to see when the link was created, revoked or re-enabled. Links created before history was kept say so.

Revoking a link stops it working immediately. The Standard stays published; only outside access is removed.

  1. Find the link and click its revoke button. To revoke several at once, tick them and click Revoke followed by the number of links.
  2. Confirm with Revoke.

The link stays listed as revoked. If you share the Standard again later, it gets a new address.

If you revoked a link by mistake, you can turn it back on with the same address it had before.

  1. Find the revoked link and click its re-enable button.
  2. Confirm with Re-enable.

Anyone with the address can open the read-only copy again. If the Standard already has a newer active link, the old one can't be re-enabled.

Good to know

  • Public means public. Anyone with the address can open the Standard. Don't share Standards that contain anything you wouldn't want outside the practice.
  • Revoking doesn't unpublish. Your team still sees the Standard as normal.
